Gym/Preschool

Hey, would anyone be interested in doing a gym/preschool swap with me in the mornings? I was thinking that if we got a group together that we could have a couple moms stay with the kids and do preschool activities and the rest of the moms could go to the gym for 30-45. And then we could alternate days for who goes to the gym and who stays and does preschool with the kids. I figured that if we had more than one mom do the preschool, the other person(s) that is there could help entertain/watch the younger kids who are too little for preschool activities. That way if you have kids/babies that are younger than preschool age, you could still be in the group with us. I was hoping that we could do Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00. Let me know if you would be interested!

*Also, if you already have your child(ren) in preschool you can still join us. I am not intending for the preschool to be hardcore normal preschool. I just thought it would be good to have some structured educational activities to help maintain their focus so that they aren't just running around going crazy! :)

Christmas Shopping

Would anyone be interested in doing a babysitting/Santa Shopping exchange?  I would love to go and do our kids Christmas shopping with Patrick this year, but obviously we can't take the kids. ;)  I would LOVE to trade with someone and babysit for them so they could do their shopping too!  If it's something you might be interested in doing, let me know!

Holiday Card Set and Class

Emily Anderson and I have teamed up to help you make some adorable holiday cards this year!

When: Friday, December 3rd at 6:30pm
Where: Mindy Burns' home 287 W. Calle Patio Lindo (Emily's as a back-up)
Price: about $20 (we are still finalizing- may be a little more or a little less)

There will be 9 full size cards with envelopes and 2 mini gift cards with envelopes. Everything will be cut out and all you have to do is come and put them together, eat, socialize, and have fun!

If you cannot come that night, but would still like to buy the sets, that is an option as well.

While we don't need a commitment from you yet, we would like to get a general number of who's interested in these cards, so that we don't over-purchase material. Please reply and let us know how interested you are. mindyburns@gmail.com or emdorphin@gmail.com

This event is open to everyone, so feel free to forward it to your friends in the area.

CityDeals

I got a deal on Walmart and Harkins gift cards and thought I would share. Go to the link below and it will take you to the homepage of Citydeals. Just type in AZ for your location (you can leave the category and distance as the default). Then the first gift card offer that should come up is for Walmart. It's a $25 gift card that you will only pay $20 for. I figured with the holidays coming everyone will end up at Walmart for one thing or another and why not save $5? A little down the page there is a deal for Harkins. You can purchase 2 movie tickets for $9.50, which makes each ticket only $4.25. Also, when you're on the checkout page there is a box you can enter in a promotional code. Use the code: wallflowers and you will be able to get the gift card(s) sent to you with free shipping. Hope you're able to get one!

Handmade Ornament Exchange

Last year I had an ornament exchange at my house and decided that it was something that I wanted to continue to do every year. This year I am making the stipulation that the ornaments must be handmade. If you want to participate please RSVP here by October 30th. The actual exchange will happen at my house on December 4th at 7pm. Once you receive confirmation of the number of participants you will have just over a month to make your ornaments. Last year I had 17 participants including me, so everyone made 16 ornaments. I will try to post pictures of last years ornaments soon.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

another halloween post

Ladies,

With Halloween on Sunday this year, a few of us in our neighborhoods want to celebrate Halloween on Saturday. Maybe that's just the obvious thing for everybody, but I didn't want to assume.
We have tried to pass the word to other streets and neighborhoods and feel like there will be a decent turn out for other homes to trick-or-treat at on Sat.
Infact Sister Creer is making up a few flyers, Sister Allen is sending an email to our neighborhood watch contact to help spread the word.
If you are doing the same in your neighborhood, please let me know. I was hoping to make up a map for all of you that want to know where you could take your kids to knock doors.

Also, anyone that lives up at the Ranch's that wants to bring your kids down this way....I say DO IT!
Maybe donate a bag of candy to some one's home, knock that door a few times and then all the others in the hood.

Let me know

Thanks,

Yard Sale

Are any of you guys participating in the Oct 2nd yard sale? If so, I have a few items I would like to try and sell but not enough to have a sale at my house. At least not enough to get people's attention! If you wouldn't mind selling a few items for me, I would be so grateful. Please let me know by e-mail kalihoenes@gmail.com or phone 801-628-0154. Also, I am looking for a bike for Kenzi. Anyone know of someone wanting to sell or get rid of a child's bike?

FREE NETFLIX

1 Month FREE Trial of Netflix.  We use it and love it.  And I get little cards to hand out for free trials all the time.  I have 4. So if you are interested, go to www.netflix.com/tellafriend and enter one of the following priority codes:

M631923967045
M691913967335
M661953967375
M621933967055

Each code is only good once, so it's probably a good idea to leave a comment if you use one and let everybody know which one.  The free trial is only for the 1 DVD out at-a-time (Unlimited) plan.  The offer ends October 31, 2010.  (I don't get anything if you use them, this isn't me trying to sell you something.  Promise!  And you can cancel it at any time.  They don't do contracts.)

Baptism Dresses

Hi Ladies,

I know sometimes it's hard to find baptism dresses around here that don't have crosses on it or other things. Well I just saw that Sears is having a sale and some communion/baptism dresses (very non-Catholic looking) and are $20 or less. The regular prices range from $110-$75 so I thought I would pass this along. I obviously have no need for this, but thought others might. Also, there are only a few that have sleeves, but there are some cover ups on sale for $5.99

Go to the Sears site (www.sears.com) and type in Muneca Baptism, it will come up with what they have available. Also, when you add the item into the cart it will take an addition percentage off (I don't know what it is). This offer is good until Monday, 9/13.
