Blocks Blocks Blocks!

Thanks so much to the ladies that painted over 1000 blocks!!!  Salt Lake will be sending these to orphanages around the world!  And a big thanks to Jenni Johansen & the enrichment committee & those that donated supplies & cut out the blocks!   So nice to be able to do something for those so much less fortunate and so far away.  We are lucky to have the opportunity to do Christlike service for those truly needy kids.

Praising your kids for Praise to the Man

I can't tell you how amazed I am at how well the primary kids have learned this hymn. I can't wait to blow you all out of the water at the primary program in August! Just in case your child hasn't told you I have a poster hanging in the Primary room that the kids can sign their name on if they pass off the words to Praise to the Man to me. The Jr. Primary needs to know the first verse and the chorus and the Sr. Primary needs to know the first and third verses and chorus. When they sign off their name they will get a treat and a huge hug from me. If your child is in Jr. Primary and wants to call me on the phone and pass of the song that works too, but Sr. Primary has to do it face to face. Thanks for all your work with your kids! I can't believe how many Sunbeams have passed this off! If you have any questions or need anything (even if it isn't singing time related) let me know.

Spring Cleaning

Hi All,

Here I am trying to get rid of stuff again. We are trying to clear out a couple of things and thought we'd ask here first to see if anyone was interested.

First, we have a computer desk that we got for free from a neighbor when we first moved in, but really don't need. It's got a lot of space and a few drawers. It's in great condition. It's just been sitting in our spare bedroom collecting dust the entire time we've been here. I promise I'll dust it before we give it to you. It's your free if you need / want something like it.

I also had ambitions of becoming an amazing gardener and composter so we bought a composter last year. It's nothing fancy, just a big plastic box, basically, that we picked up at Home Depot, so it doesn't have multiple compartments or turn or anything. However, I decided, for now at least, composting is not for me. I still haven't given up the gardening, but I am definitely not amazing yet :) Anyway, I bought a bail of hay to use as the dry portion of the compost. You can take or leave that too. There are lots of instructions on the Internet on how to compost, so if you are thinking of trying it out, this would be a really cheap way of doing it since we are just giving it away. Again, I'll hose off the dirt and such before delivering it since it doesn't look too pretty in the picture.

Need a Date Night?

A whole year ago I bought 2 groupons for colossal cave. The groupons include a 90 minute adventure tour, a dinner buffet and a bonfire. It sounded like a fun date night. Then, I forgot about it and we never went. Our anniversary is coming up this weekend so we just looked into making this our date for the anniversary, but the prospect of my pregnant self climbing through "narrow tunnels and subterranean passages," as the website claims you will do on the tour, didn't sound like fun. We even contacted the cave park and they said it would be hard to say if it would be possible for me to go or not. So....I think we'll forgo this little adventure. However, the groupons expire June 7th, so we can't save them for another time. I thought I'd throw this up here in case anyone else is interested in doing it. I paid $18 for each groupon, so it would just $36 for the entire date.

Please contact me if you're interested in taking these off our hands. Thanks!

This month's Primary Song

Dear ladies of the ward,

This month the primary has been asked to learn the first verse and chorus of "Praise to the Man." (Laughing slightly hysterically) I will be the first to admit that this is beyond my abilities, so I am online begging you to please, please, please practice at home. Hum the song, sing it before prayers, teach your sunbeam to say "dispensation" it will be really cute I promise. Have a family home evening about what the song is teaching. Anything you can do to help your kids learn this wonderful hymn will be greatly appreciated. We handed out songbooks and cd's if you didn't get one please let Heather Henrie or me know. Thanks so much for your help. I love singing with your kids they are amazing!

Seeking a Soprano

Emily Nielsen asked me to do a musical number in church at the end of April (I think Easter, but that isn't final). I have a piece in mind, but I would need a soprano to sing with me, as I am most definitely an alto.

I don't know who our singers are. If you are willing to do a duet in Sacrament meeting, please give me a call.

If you want to volunteer a friend who has a beautiful voice that should be showcased (or even a beautiful personality that should be showcased... this is sacrament meeting, not Broadway!), please give me a call.

Thanks,

Children's Fireman's Hat

I'm looking to borrow a cheap plastic children's fireman's hat (you know the kind they hand out for free).  I specifically need one with Green Valley FD on the front (not Rural/Metro).  Does anyone have one I could use as a prop in a photo?

I could also use a few other good children's figherfighter play dress clothes and props.  They will be well handled and returned in great condition with a HUGE thanks!

I Need Biosphere 2 for 1 Admission Coupons

I'm wondering if anyone has the Tucson passport or the Tucson Entertainment book and is willing to share the 2 for 1 admission for the Biosphere coupon. I'm willing to trade coupons. My family is coming into town on Saturday for Josie's blessing and that's our touristy activity for the weekend. I have 2 but I'm going to need 2 or 3 more.

Thanks!

Canning Fruit from Oregon

I had a friend email me information about ordering some fresh-frozen fruit from Oregon. I thought I'd pass it on. The deadline for ordering is February 28th. They have quite a variety of fruit not often found around here. I've heard that the fruit purees are just the fruit pulp and juices - no seeds. You can call the number listed or email them to place your order. Here's the order form to open/download.

*The drop-off in Tucson will probably be mid-March but the won't know exactly where until after the deadline. I've heard that if we come up with 25 orders, they'll deliver where we select. The cost of shipping is included in the price of the fruit.

**If you have any questions, email (adtingenjones@yahoo.com) or call (664-2441) me and I'll see what I can find out. I'll be calling them tomorrow morning to find out some more details. I'll be sure to pass on whatever I find out.

Free Formula

I have a couple of 13 oz. cans of Similac formula (1 Advanced and 1 Sensitive) that I don't need.  They are the perfect size to put in a 72 hour kit or diaper bag.  I also have (4) $5.00 off coupons for Similac. I have tons of $5 off coupons and samples for Enfagrow too. (Enfamil Toddler formula) We aren't currently using those brands, but I hate to just throw it all away if someone else could use it.  Let me know.

Scrap vinyl for sale

I have a laundry basket full of various sized scraps of craft vinyl. All the pieces are big enough to do something with - some are quite large, I'm just tired of having them laying around. They'd work perfect on a Cricut or Silhouette. I'm selling them for cost. If anyone's interested, please let me know. If you don't have a Cricut or Silhouette and would like something cut from one of the scraps, I can do that too. I have black, chocolate brown, light brown, dark blue, red, bright pink, beige, dark gray and light gray. I'm not sure how much I have of each color. It's all just leftovers from projects I've done. First come, first serve. What isn't gone by craft night, I'll have available then.

Thanks!

Train table

I have a train table that my dad built. It is blue and on casters so it rolls really nice. It used to have drawers, but my kids sat in them and broke them. If anyone wants it they can come get it. It is the perfect size for 2-4 year old kids for cars or trains or whatever. Let me know. If it's not gone by tomorrow night I will post it on craigslist. We just don't have room with the new baby.

Saturday Afternoon

Hey! If you kids get a little squirrely on Saturday afternoons like ours we want to invite you to come play a game of soccer with us at the Park with the football posts and the skate park. I think it's called Santa Cruz. Anyway, the one right of Rancho Sahuarita Blvd. Bring the kids and some water and let's play until the kids are tired.

HUGE Garage Sale Jan 14 and 15

Sisters,

I'm getting married (yay!) and will be moving to UT at the end of this month. I am pretty much going to be selling almost everything in my home (with the exception of my piano, of course! and a few other things)... I'll update later with a list of items but I have a front-loader washer and dryer (Neptune), sofa, chair, ottoman a ton of clothes (women's size 12 - professional, Ann Taylor; young boy and toddler girl) and some toys that have to go, a BOB double jogging stroller as well as a BOB single jogging stroller.... Kitchen items... It's going to be huge! (The money from the garage sale is what I hope to use to move me and the kids to UT... so every little bit helps!)

Jan 14th is Raytheon's off-Friday (for most of us...) so hopefully that makes it easier for you to swing by. That day will be more about just coming into my home and seeing what you might want. Jan 15th will be more like a traditional, open the garage and pull items out garage sale. (I'm only publicly announcing Jan 15th, so you sisters have first shot at things you might want/need!)

Anything I can't sell on the 14/15, I'm going to take with me and sell on eBay...

Thank you all!
